Original sources
- USPTO PatentsView ↗
Patent grant and assignee records.
- SEC EDGAR Form D ↗
Private securities offering notices.
How it was put together
- Aggregate patents by assignee; derive classification and country from the most frequent recorded values.
- Deduplicate Form D amendments within offering events, aggregate reported amounts and join normalized names. Retain match_score and efficiency_metric_reliable.
What to keep in mind
- The current matched export has 1,753 rows; older listing copy describes 3,591.
- CPC sections A and C extend beyond biotechnology. Patents and Form D amounts alone do not establish productivity or causation.
- Fuzzy names can create false joins. Validate highlighted companies. Form D is not a complete funding history.
