41 consecutive quarterly observations, June 2016–June 2026. Published original averages in nominal A$thousands. source-extract.csv preserves all 369 values across the Australia aggregate, six states and two territories. chart-data.csv selects 246 state values without recomputing averages. state-ranks.csv ranks only NSW,Vic,Qld,SA,WA,Tas, descending (ties share a rank). endpoints.csv contains start/end levels/ranks. No missing chart cells.

Scope: new borrower-accepted owner-occupier dwelling loan commitments excluding refinancing. Construction, purchase of new and purchase of existing dwellings are included. Residential land and alterations/additions are separate. Original means not seasonally adjusted. Not house prices, outstanding debt, affordability or an explanation of causes. Borrower/property mix can affect averages.

ABS introduced EFS inJuly 2019 and backcast historical series where sufficiently similar. Earlier lower-level series are modelled analytical history. The dashed chart marker indicates that transition; it does not assert a discontinuity. The chart uses one frozen current release throughout, not old-vintage splicing.

Exact endpoints: Victoria 416.0→664.0; state rank 2→5. June 2026 NSW 842.0,Qld 751.0,WA 720.0,SA 672.0,Vic 664.0,Tas 516.0. ACT 666.0 would rank above Vic if territories were included; the six-state scope is explicit.

Offline reproduction: unzip source-and-data.zip, run `python3 reproduce.py` in that extracted directory. Python standard library only, no network. Four CSVs rebuild exactly from frozen HTML and are checked against both the table and embedded JSON. Output is written to reconstructed/. SVG/PNG exports are frozen reviewed assets; the stdlib script does not recreate PNG rendering. This candidate build.py also creates SVG and renders with installed rsvg-convert.

Exports: desktop SVG 1200×1000, PNG 1800×1500; mobile SVG 360×1140, PNG 720×2280. Mobile source text is at least 16px except the 12px decorative eyebrow; 16px source/interpretation notes. Inspect 286 CSS px export for a 320px viewport with page gutters.
