What the chart shows
Strasbourg's 2024/25 side had a minutes-weighted recorded age of 20.6 years, the youngest of 2,814 club-seasons. Lille 2017/18 was next at 22.0, and Chievo 2016/17 was oldest at 30.7.
Premier League, LaLiga, Bundesliga, Serie A and Ligue 1, 1996/97–2024/25. Domestic league minutes only.
How it was made
For each included club-season, divide the sum of recorded season age multiplied by league minutes by total league minutes. Require at least 25,000 valid player-minutes. Include goalkeepers; exclude cups and national teams.
Definitions & limits
- Youngest and oldest refer only to this five-league file and period, not an all-time European record.
- Recorded season ages are not exact matchday ages. Around 90% of Strasbourg’s included minutes went to players with a recorded age under 23.
- The chart uses Meplar’s stored Transfermarkt-derived snapshot. The documented current upstream is a different release, and the historical player-level input is not included in this download.
- This ZIP is the published football-age analysis subset, not the complete European-football player dataset.
