Definitions and limits

All ten players with at least four goals in the official FIFA Men’s World Cup 2026 Golden Boot table; Goals selected, All Teams. The next row has three goals. This is a goal-selected cohort, not a tournament-wide per-90 leaderboard.

Goals per 90 = 90 × match goals ÷ FIFA Minutes Played, using integer inputs from one official table. Match penalties are retained; no shootout goals or non-penalty adjustment are added. Source glossary defines minutes as total active participation.

The two panels use separate zero-based scales and the same FIFA scorer order. CSV retains Decimal rates; display rounds to one decimal. Mbappé: 10 goals/769 minutes; Haaland: 7/537. Both display 1.2 per 90, with a small unrounded difference.

Descriptive rates are not adjusted for opponents, role or playing conditions and do not establish player quality or causal efficiency.

Source facts were independently verified in the rendered official browser table. The archived JSON is a marked structured DOM transcription, not an original dataset download. Final tournament context was checked against an official 20 July 2026 summary; all player numbers come from the Golden Boot table.

Files and reproduction

The source-table CSV retains the eleven-row cohort boundary.

Extract the ZIP and run python3 reproduce.py --out reproduced. The standard library rebuilds the CSVs and SVGs offline; optional PNG rendering requires existing librsvg and matching fonts. No network or account.
